When one institution can finance a question and another cannot, the resulting asymmetry concerns more than money. It shapes the horizon of possible knowledge.
Advanced computation does not automatically concentrate power. But exclusive control over infrastructure, research budgets, model access and distribution can make some inquiries easy, others prohibitively expensive, and some altogether invisible. Which decisions were necessary? Which merely benefited the incumbent?

ARE NOT THE SYSTEM.
Gog and Magog are apocalyptic figures whose meanings change across religious texts. Here they serve only as a deliberately provocative metaphor: the person at the lever, and the immense apparatus that makes pulling it consequential.
Named public figures occupy very different roles and hold different views. This essay does not equate them morally or allege a coordinated conspiracy. Its question is structural: why should the authority to shape humanity's computational possibilities be so concentrated?
The answer is not to find kinder hands for the lever. It is to make the lever less exclusive.

Specialized sessions anticipate dependencies, prepare executable parts, test competing compositions and subscribe to events while another session is still thinking aloud. A conductor coordinates when those prepared capabilities should intervene.
The aspiration: reduce the interval between articulating an idea and executing its functional consequences. Not instant magic — carefully timed, evidence-backed assembly.

If every realized capability increases everyone else's capacity to act, another person's discovery need not become another person's dependency. The meaningful epitaph is not the abolition of invention or reward, but the erosion of artificial scarcity around reproducible functionality.
A commons can itself be captured. Computation remains physical, costly and governed. Universal technical access requires plural infrastructure, accountable rules, genuine interoperability, portable evidence and freedom to leave. This is a proposition to build and test — not a victory already won.
